Abbie's comments

Abbie said two really cute things today and I wanted to make sure and write them down.
Molly, Abbie and I were at Publix today, grocery shopping obviously. At the check out, Abbie immediately asked if she could have a balloon. Molly has decided after our last trip when her balloon floated to the ceiling that she doesn't want balloons anymore, even though they gave her another one:) I said, "Abbie you just got a cookie." But of course she still wanted a balloon and the sweet grandma cashier really wanted her to have one, so I said "yes, you can have a balloon as long as if it goes to the ceiling you don't get upset."

While the cashier was ringing our groceries up, we all noticed that there were a lot of balloons on the ceiling. I asked the girls to count them - there were 7! Well, as you can already see coming Abbie's balloon slipped off her wrist and up to the ceiling. She immediately got upset and when I leaned down to talk to her she said through her tears "mommy, there were 7 balloons and now there are 8!" It was so sweet and helped me not be that "I told you so" mom.

Graham has started getting the mail everyday after school and everyday he tells me who each piece of mail is for. Him and Abbie usually ask "where's my mail?" Well, today Abbie got a piece of mail and she was SO excited! She was literally jumping up and down and clapping her hands. She said "I have waited my WHOLE life for a piece of mail." Love that girl. (She was even more excited when she opened it and it was a $3 gift card for Toys R Us. It is from Toys R Us if you sign up online for their birthday club.)

Dirty Moons and Chasing Cars

Last night we went to watch the airing of Wheel of Fortune that our friends Brandi and Brittani were on. I was able to go to the taping but had a huge pole in front of me so I couldn't really see them on stage. They won every single quick solve puzzle (not sure what they are called). They did great!

On our way home it was late and the moon was out. It was a full moon and was especially low and big. Graham saw the moon and said how cool it was and that it was huge. Molly kept commenting that it was dark outside and then said "wow moon." Abbie looked at the moon and says "the moon is dirty." She was right it did look kind of yellow and dirty.

As we were continuing to drive home the kids kept looking for the moon when we turned or when the road curved. Then Abbie looked out the back window again and said (in her oh no what are we going to do voice) "there's a car following us!" Marty and I just looked at each other and laughed. What are you supposed to say to that?

Funny things Abbie says

(Abbie with my dad's dog, Daphne.  She is the only other dog besides ours that she isn't terrified of.  She actually really loved Daphne.)

Abbie is 3 years old and like all kids says some words really funny.  So I wanted to try to write some of them down to help remember.  

My favorite is the way she says "Sleeping Beauty" (which by the way is her absolute favorite princess) - she says "Ffweeping beauty."

She gets Cinderella right but used to get confused who Belle was.  We would correct her by saying "No Belle."  Well, as you guessed in her mind her name was "Nobelle."  Then we have been correcting her and emphasizing the B in Belle, so now she says Belle with a strong emphasis on B and it sounds like she is really mad at you.  It's pretty funny. 

Also if she is talking about yesterday Abbie says "tomorrowday." 

I love all the funny things kids say and I remember being so sad when Graham grew out of those funny words.  I know we will still have more to come with Abbie and even more with Molly.  

What do you see?

So today I was dropping the kids off at preschool. Graham went into the bathroom and Abbie tried to follow him into the boys bathroom. I stopped her and told her she couldn't go in there because it was only for boys. I showed her which one was the girls and said "see the girl sign has a dress on." She looked back and forth and then said "so the girl has a dress on and the boy is naked." .... After I stopped laughing hysterically. I realized I'd never thought about it, but I don't really see pants or a shirt on him, do you? :)
