Three, Two, One Liftoff!

Marty and I decided to be adventurous parents and take our kids to see the space shuttle launch last night. It was a night launch - at 2:28am to be exact. We had heard these were really cool and so worth going to see so we thought we would try it. Our friends Chris and Erin came along with us also. We prepared ourselves that we may drive over to the beach (about an 1 1/2 away ) in the middle of the night with our three kids and the launch may not happen. Well, the launch did happen and it was well worth driving over to see. It was even worth all the traffic leaving from the launch.
Where we were (right along US 1 with only a river between us and the launch pad) we could see the launch pad directly. It was really amazing to see the pad where they have super bright lights shining on the shuttle. When the shuttle did lift off, it was almost like it was daytime it was so bright. We only got to see the shuttle for a little because of clouds which was a little disappointing, but we all agreed it was well worth the drive! I am so glad after almost 8 years in Florida we finally went to see a shuttle launch!

Chris taped the whole thing also. We of course didn't take pictures though. I seem to always forget to take pictures. But here's someone else's video of what we saw.
